how is the work at HBO and what are the core technology stack. I met the team and have a good offer, I am trying to decide if it's a good place to work for
Im curious what HBO's legacy systems are like - as in, the technology that generates the feeds for the TV channels and archives (and plays) their library back to the 1970s.
Crap team. Comp isn't great. I got an offer from them and MS beat it (63). The work they're doing seems boring, JS crap that they're reinventing the wheel on for some reason. Also, easiest interview loop I've ever been on. They didn't seem top notch to me. Go to Google, Facebook, Amazon, or Microsoft if you're senior level. In that order. You'll get better comp, do more interesting things, and work with smarter people in companies with more cachet.
wow that's a nasty review. when did u interview?
Around Feb this year.
How many dragons did they offer ?
they offered the iron throne
Lol you met the team and got an offer and don't know what the technology stack is?
Classic
I know they use go Lang, nodejs and aws. since I am still an outsider I wanted some insider info on how their technology stack is
