No surprises, but can anyone confirm? Fiancé is interviewing for a SDE role.
Weird I can't find any news on it, but yeah on LinkedIn there are a lot of posts from folks laid off yesterday. Sounds like a few hundred.
75% of BA layoff are “quiet-layoff”. Anything <5% don’t need SEC filing. Anything which require >5%, most companies will stagger em over 2-7yrs to prevent PR disaster
Yes it’s unfortunate. Layoffs were in sales and Advisor roles . So non Tech related roles. Still hiring for 250+ positions on tech side.
Wait till 2023
There is a heavy investment in Zillow tech right now and there is enough cash to get through a recession. With the stock price where it is, now would be a better time than worse to join
Agree with previous post. This round of layoffs are non tech and just bad press. We are still hiring engg and product people. Remote and wlb is good. Not sure what your fiancés situation is, but if job security is better stay out there. If you want to take a chance and ride it out , take it up
I just had my Swe offer canceled, It’s brutal.
Few moons ago Zillow folks were flaming me right here bout my low TC & none glamorous co I work for when I mention property mart overhangs and crash. Serve you right. Karma is a bitc*
Not that you are wrong, but holding a grudge especially over a whole company over the actions of a few seems a bit harsh.
