I have received two offers and am going back and forth between the two. Amazon worries me because it’s Amazon. Bloomberg worries me because of the older tech stack. I like the culture of Bloomberg though. EDIT: I feel like I may be able to negotiate Bloomberg to match Amazon base. Offer 1: Amazon Base: 165k Sign on: 34k year 1, 26k year 2 25 RSU 7k relocation Offer 2: Bloomberg Base: 155k Annual Potential Bonus: 25k Relocation: 10k Current TC: 90k YOE <1
Definitely Amazon
Starting with fang on your resume will set you up well for your future
This. Starting with Bloomberg will take you down a completely different career path. I will say that the BB's work-life balance is amazing, but at the same time in your first years you should not be prioritizing work-life balance at the top. Seek to learn the most you can
What are your thoughts on the nightmares people seem to have in Amazon?
Amazon if your goal is making senior/principal level in FAANG type companies. You might get pip … that is when you can think about bb to be risk averse. I am recommending Amazon not because it is the hardest place to work but with the choices given it would give you a Launchpad for your career.
no other way to try for other companies? I got an amazon and goldman sach offer last time and I regretted that I didn't apply for more companies. now I'm having bad WLB and force myself to LC
Bloomberg will guarantee you stable employment with no ura and pip
What is the role? Without knowing the position, I would say Bloomberg in terms of overall happiness/career stability.
Bloomberg doesn’t give any rsu?
It’s a private company so all cash
Bloomberg will SPAC through PSTH
