I had my onsites with Airbnb and the recruiter said the feedback was positive, so they want to schedule 2-3 more interviews. One more of the cross functional, and one or two with the management chain. They said this is normal for leadership roles. What to expect from those interviews? I like how Airbnb is making sure to protect their culture, and I think I am not a terrible person to work with. I am just not the best in remembering STARs, or even what books I read recently! I do face situations at work, and I do read.. but is this what I should remunerate for these interviews? Thanks! Just lean hard on “empathy” and emotional intelligence. You won’t be using any of this after you’re hired, but it’s important that you play the game and talk the talk on the way in.
Cvs rounds are pretty easy , just be yourself and open up a little bit in those questions. Give examples from your personal or work life. They are non work related and are very generic. I enjoyed my CV interviews when I interviewed here and I am also a cvi now. If you want to prepare then you can read about our mission and core values
The hiring manager and I already had a chat before the interviews, and there were 2 cross functional interviews. By CV rounds, do you mean the interviews with the management chain? Thanks a lot for the response.
Cv rounds are cross functional rounds
My favorite part of the interview was the cross functional round. I read on here somewhere that if you don’t have an answer you’re probably not a good fit anyway. Totally agree. Couldn’t really prepare for this. Thankfully the answers for me came very naturally. Basically think of the mission and how you show it in and outside of work.
This. For most of the people it will come naturally. I didn't even knew about cross functional rounds. My recruiter did a pretty bad job by not sharing me any info about these rounds at all.
If I remember correctly, the cross functional interviews are more like core values interviews with people outside of your organization. I enjoyed mine. The leadership ones are likely to be experience interviews where they'll be looking to get a sense for the scope of projects you've shipped, as well as how you approached them. In some sense, that'll be used to figure out your level.
So preparing some STAR sounds like the thing to do
