Are there any BI engineers who make 100k + here? I went to grad school, have 1 year experience and make around 70k :( I am not interested in software development jobs. So, I think I’m stuck with this low paying crapy BI job for a long time :) Any suggestions/ similar stories ? Most of the posts here are for FAANG related engineering roles
What does a BI engineer do? At 70k sounds like just SQL scripts all day?
You can make 200k doing SQL scripts all day lol
Where and what role?
Yeah mostly SQL and some python. There is hardly any work. Not sure why they haven’t fired me
Pick up basic ML and brand yourself as a business analyst
Business analysts know basic ML??
If you know sql and python, why not data engineering? You could make 100k for sure!
Amazon pays well. Fb for data scientist, integrity. Same with Airbnb product analytics. All BI roles

You are not interested in swe jobs, or too lazy to build the skills to do swe? BI engineers get paid pretty well in SF.
I have done around 200 LC problems. But I’m not confident I’ll be able to do well in development jobs.
You’ve done 200 LC problems and only make 70k?? Something is off here.
