Quite frankly, I'm trash at whiteboarding. I can do take-home assignments, online assessments, code reviews, project discussions, etc. It's literally just the LeetCode-on-the-spot stuff that's an issue. There's this list on GitHub but no comp numbers. https://github.com/poteto/hiring-without-whiteboards What are the highest-paying companies that don't whiteboard? TC: $160k YoE: 4 #engineering #leetcode #swe #tc
Why does the post have a picture? TAke it off.
Lmao it's the account of the person who owns that GitHub page. It's her repo
Yeah let me just go into the source and change the way this app handles URL previews…
I aced FB interview twice for system design, leadership, project, product, people management but I didn't get an offer because of leetcode white boarding. I was applying for an M2 role. Same problem was presented to me by Cruise as a code review and I aced it.
I actually saw Cruise's demo a while back. Super neat stuff. How was the rest of the process? Did you end up getting an offer?
Does cruise require leetcode for engineers?
Thanks for sharing this link!
Follow-up: Do I just grind it out on LC? Someone mentioned how Stripe doesn't do traditional LC. Maybe that's the play?
Stripe’s process is the best, imho you have to be a competent engineer to crack their interviews. They grade on things like readability, testing, cleanliness etc.
And that's on top of the LC questions they give you? How are their LC questions in general? Easy/Medium? I hear they have a more "real-world" set of questions they use, like ascertaining bank balances, or responding to particular HTTP headers (which is right up my alley) Those abstract LC questions like "Bob has an array of strings and needs to pivot the median with a depth-first-search" are such a fuckin' pain
But who is conducting whiteboard interviews right now? Or do you mean LCing?
I mean LCing
I'm terrible on the whiteboard and ok with LC questions. I thank this WFH for allowing me to interview remotely and use my keyboard to code and get into G.

Associating algorithmic questions to "technical riddles" is hyperbolic. It makes it sound like brainteasers and such
It is a brain tease though. In my last interview I solved a DP coding problem thinking how it’s not brain teaser all along
Then everything is a brain tease. I agree some dp problem can be hard but definitely don't fall in the category of classic "brain teasers"
