Curious what you’ll think of the the Sonata and Elantra. Their latest styling is real nice, and interior was impressive. Definitely good value but resale and reliability is a bit of an open question. Getting better for sure from where they were at 20 years ago. But don’t have the reputation of Honda or Toyota even if they do end up being reliable. Which could affect resale. Civic is the most “don’t overthink it” car out there. It has a rebuttal for every criticism you can throw at it, and definitely bests the Corolla for this gen. It’s MPG isn’t bad by any means. Either way you’re getting something that sips gas. if you’re the type to run something into the ground go with something that will fill as many use cases as you’ll need so you can hold onto it as long as possible. Corolla trunk is trash and have found the interior to be overall uncomfortable. With the extra space the civic hatch gets you plus all the nice creature comforts you get from a top trim, my choice would be a civic. Paying MSRP for a civic in 2023 is not a bad deal. See if they can throw in a few tanks of gas since you’re on the fence on a hybrid ;)
