Recruiter asked me if I know someone who works at FB. I've got an onsite interview coming up. I understand that the person may vouch for candidates abilities. Would recruiting team asks their employee to write a review or something? How does that work?
It can matter for borderline cases during CR
Can acquaintance help?
Only if they can vouch for your actual professional abilities.
No it can help you get an interview but nothing after that As you already got interview scheduled, HR might just be checking if you have some help
Trivial, don't believe it impacts anything
They ask it to schedule a lunch interview with that person, so you have something to talk about
Oh lol ya. But they also asked if someone can vouch for my tech skills.
I’ve seen it help people who are borderline on behavioral round. I’ve also seen it hurt people who are toxic coworkers.
Can acquaintance help? I assume it wouldn't help much.
Just curious question @facebook folks. Does it really matter if someone vouches? Will that influence final outcome? If no why do they ask?
