Debating if I should leave Amazon, or if I could maybe change my perspective to deal better with the stress. I love the opportunities to do amazing things, but under so many stressful daily situations at work, a lot of pressure to preform, little to no support or mentorship, heavy politics, passive-aggressive culture, bad managers, and non-collaborative personalities. How do you manage to not stress? Is it just Amazon, or the case in most tech companies?
What kind of stress? For normal stuff, I consult flow chart. For truly toxic workplaces, leave.
I guess not everyone thrives under those conditions, but I seem to. I usually leave the company for bad managers not the other points you listed though.
Nothing about this situation is terrible. But it still gets to me.
If it’s workplace stress then switch teams. Personal life - gym, meditation, see therapist if needed. Your physician can also prescribe meds that will be effective but obviously temporary solution until you resolve the root causes.
That's how it is at Amazon, if you get stressed out, you'll never be the considered top performers
Do a year or two learn stuff build your resume then leave. Amazon is a max 4 year springboard to the next thing
