TC is a little over $200k. Comes out to $9,500 / month after tax. I’m paying $2940 without utilities for my apartment in SF. Is that too much? More details: Comes with a nice gym and swimming pool. 916 square foot studio in NEMA (layout is like a 1 bedroom just no doors between rooms) #sanfrancisco #housing #rent
i make roughly 12k and im paying 2900 in high medium income area. i got a good deal though. i would pay 3.3k though for a 2bed room
That’s not bad for sf

Make it a poll? IMO, 3 grand is reasonable spend on housing if you are making over 200.

OP : If your TC is 200K, I used effective tax rate of 20% leading to 13K. If you use 33% for housing as yard stick, you are doing ok. But, I wish that money goes to mortgage than rent.
Yeah unfortunately I don’t have a lot in savings for a down payment
TC 450K, mortgage ~3.3K
Does it include property tax?
No, tax on top of that
