Modi is a legend, will be remembered for centuries to come
Hey blind, What is the total comp for someone with 8yoe at BCG/McKinsey? US only Thanks! #bcg #pay #mckinsey #consulting
It depends on whether you started at the post-MBA or post-undergrad level. Also- 8 YOE total or 8 YOE in consulting? Those are very very different. 8 YOE total you’d likely come in at post-MBA, 8 YOE in consulting you’d be close to partner (assuming you make it that far)
Which level?
Dunno. You tell me. I know little about consulting levels
At McKinsey, it's analyst (fresh out of undergrad) or associate (fresh out of MBA) to engagement manager (2-3 years later), to associate partner (3-4 years later), to partner (2-4 years later), to senior partner
8 YOE in consulting means at McKinsey, you'd be just a step below partner (Associate Partner). They would be at $450-500k but I have no idea if they'd take you directly as an AP
You need an MBA to go into management consulting (associate and up) If you’re looking at engineering roles in like BCG digital ventures they will pay less than G
Op , if you come into consulting today , you will come in as an associate and make 200k . If you are able to stick around for 8 years, you will definitely make partner and the comp is likely to be around 800k to 1.2 MN . Senior tenured partners go upto 2 MN . If you stick around further (say 12 to 18 years) you can make senior partner which has a comp of 2 to 5 MN (all average numbers)
Are you sure? My friend was a star and making 500 or so as AP 6.5 years post mba
Don't bruv you'll get paid less
What is the number?
For a tech guy coming in I doubt you'll get higher than associate if you don't have prior consulting exp. So 160k in the US, less than engineer with worse hours and work
