One week with proper stories for each LP and practicing them.
Is it a good idea to answer with a mix of two leadership principles for a single question?
Yes it is good idea to accommodate as many leadership principles in your story as you can.
Let’s say if a interviewer has a specific LP on their mind, can we respond with different LP if both LPs are dependent on each other such as ownership vs bias for action?
If you can make out what LP interviewer is trying to gauge then it would not be advisable to diverge from that LP. You can definitely add different LPs in your response.
1 hour. Made up stories on the spot. Good times
Tell me about the time that you troll on blind, what do you learn for that experience and what will you do different next time
A couple hours over the week before the interview
I spent 1-2 hours daily during last two weeks before interview. By the end of preparation I came up with really good real examples. It took time to recollect stuff from memory.
Thanks for this question. I’m going through this right now. I try to dedicate at 1-2 hours a day on LPs and 2-3 hours on the technical side. Mostly just practice and taking notes to remember them easily.
Probably 95%. I didn’t study for coding, coming from Microsoft.
How do you like amazon compared to Microsoft?
I really liked the first two years money. It was a 50% raise over MSFT, but if you had a lot of MSFT stock waiting to vest, you’d be doing well right now. Culture wise, AMZN indexes on certain personality types. If you’re aggressive-ish, confident, and independent, you’ll do well. If you’re passive, anxious, it’ll be hard. This place isn’t good for people with anxiety issues. Engineering-wise, I like owning my own micro services and delivering code fast. I learned a lot here for speed and efficiency of delivery. But, I learned better engineering practices in Azure.
