In the last round of interview I got told I'll be hired. Now, it has been 11+ days. Is this normal? This would be my first permanent job, so I'm curious. How much time do HR teams take to process something sent by a team manager? Also, if you could tell me what happens behind the curtains (i.e. the process to give an offer), it would be very helpful. #engineering #software #swe #amazon #oracle #google #meta #microsoft #intel #qualcomm #amd #witch #india #cloud #ai #system #hardware #kernel #frontend #backend #finance #quant #aws #oci #gcp #azure #netflix #apple

Congrats :) I have an upcoming final for a software engineer position. Can I dm you for some tips and to hear your experience?
Thanks! And sure.
Cool, just sent a message.
After how many days of onsite did you hear back from them?
Could you share the date of your verbal offer ?
Did you receive offer letter ?
Did you email them ?
It depends. At my current company we always, work together with HR to send it ASAP, usually within a few days. But at one of my former employer it took forever 'till HR sent it and usually candidates already accepted another offer by then. I was also in a situation once when I clearly stated I have another offer in hand and I am accepting that if they won't make one within a week. And then they sent it almost a month later... so any of the choices are valid. Generally, it takes longer if they have a better candidate waiting for her to accept or if HR is just darn slow.
Waiting for her to accept? Gender biased.
Thanks! I should wait a few more days I guess... it's soul crushing though, interview process started last month, and I don't have any counter offer and also have essentially stopped hunt (yeah I'm stupid ;-;).
