How much value has Facebook as a brand on your CV and portfolio?
I would like to hear some opinions about this question: How much does Facebook influence your career and reputation once you worked for the company about 2 years as a Product Designer? Thank you very much!
As a designer your portfolio, product thinking skills and craft skills are what matters mainly (atop your soft skills), not where you’ve worked (in my opinion). You should be fine if not better!
I generally don’t look favorably upon Facebook products. But I’m not most people. I think it’ll be an advantage for most hiring managers having FB on your resume. But it’ll also depend on how much responsibility you had. I wouldn’t hire you to be responsible for the design of a whole product if you only worked on one tiny portion of a FB product.
