How to be a morning person?

I have had trouble waking up early. I want to study 2-3 hours in the morning, or do other the important tasks which have been pending forever. I want to keep the evenings aside for workouts. However, I find it really hard to wake up early. I sleep so deep in the morning that I don't hear the alarms. Even if I do, I snooze them or turn then off without realizing. If I try extremely hard to push myself out, I sit on my bed like a zombie and my eyes are so heavy I can hardly get anything done. Then I am back to bed in a few minutes, only to wake up at 9-10am. Any suggestions on how to wake up early and be active?

Put your alarm clock on the other side of the room and make it 2LOUD4SNOOZING. That'll force you to get out of bed to shut it off. If I have a pressing appointment to wake up for, sometimes I'll stick a post it note on my clock, too. Something like "don't be a lazy shit, you have the dentist".

I guess you sleep late as well. Regulate your eating habits - eat around 7-8ish and go to bed around 10, your body will wake you up on time.

When will I workout if I eat at 7-8?

Do power naps in day time. After a while you will wake up early automatically

Sleep early is the best answer. The only time i start waking up early was due to jetlag. I maintain the habit of sleeping early and wake up early for a month and it feels great. Everything changed when my gf who like to sleep late move in, though 😂

I second this. I have insomnia and have tried all kinds of witchcraft and voodoo over the years, including Zopiclone. 2.5g of melatonin 2/3 nights gave me the best results. You (OP) can probably start at 1g, though. Take it an hour before bed and before 10pm. Also, be prepared for wild nightmares as your body adjusts.

Get Philips Hue lights and schedule them to slowly fade on in the morning, and simulate a sunrise. Same time every day of the week.

The difference between off and minimum brightness is almost more annoying than an alarm.

So you work only 6.5 hours a day. Not every company is like Cisco.

It’s not like everyone works 8 hrs without a break. If i get more work, i do it on weekends. Also, you shouldn’t be complaining as you are from Microsoft

I wasn't a morning person until I had kids. They wake up early so I do too, which means I'm tired around 9-10. Eventually your sleep schedule shifts but it takes a few months of being tired. Coffee helps too
