Hi all, I’ve been looking for a marketing job at a tech company for 6 months now with no luck. I’ve interviewed with but did not land 2 agency sales/account management positions at FAANG companies. Ultimately, I don’t want that kind of role anyway. I would like a marketing manager/ growth marketing manager role. Any advice? If your advice is “network”- then how? I have 4 YOE in paid search, paid social, and direct partnerships at a large agency on an auto client - and pharma experience too. Any advice on how to move into tech without the relevant vertical experience? TC: 90k YOE: 4#marketing #ads
What’s your title on LinkedIn? Surprised you’re not getting hits, I’m drowning in emails from recruiters looking to fill growth marketing roles. 4 YOE of paid search and social experience should be plenty to bump your TC up at least 30%.
My company’s title might not be helping. Manager, Digital Activation. I should put more information in my profile now that you mention it.
Yeah you def want to get marketing in there. Switching “Activation” to “Marketing” should make a big difference
I work in a marketing manager role for one of those tech companies you mentioned. I got it by applying through their website. Happy to have a read through your resume if you'd like (is that something that can be done on this app? I'm new).
Marketing has become extremely specialized unfortunately. Instead of FAANG, try a company that sells software for search /social. you could land a a PM or Offering mgt role....
TBH your 4 YOE is nothing. I have 7 and am not even manager at Meta
I’m in growth marketing here at Meta. Have you looked here? Tons of roles that you’re looking for
I know people give referrals on this app- would you be comfortable with that? Happy to share my resume to see if it’s a fit. Growth at Meta would be awesome
