Commerce and ecosystem org. New grad SWE, Redmond location. 110 base, 70K worth of stocks over 3.5 years, 15K sign on without negotiation Thoughts on team and career growth there?
70/3.5 seems super low. Back in 2017 I got 150/3.5 from them so you should negotiate
Isn't that like a terrible org
Pray tell more
use Reddit and blind but when I interviewed with that org I researched a bunch of stuff about that org and declined their offer (it was about this amount, which was much lower than my starting Amazon offer). Plus the interview experience was shitty and interviewers looked miserable
why do they do 3.5 yrs?
4 vests, first vest after 6 months then yearly after that
Even Amazon pays more for new grad
You have to barely make it to Amazon to get a lower offer than Microsoft. Amazon almost always pays more
No our returning intern got L60 with $150k stock. $125k. Not to mention we get bonus every year and our stock is out performing Amazons. No health insurance premiums, and $9500 401k match every year.
Your stocks seem low, returning interns get $150k
C+E org doesn't do great work. It also doesn't do bad either. You have distributed systems, commerce centric world, more SQL based, Bizops based, still relying on nugets, bad WLB in some teams of the org, only few teams with good diversity. So, evaluate yourself. Btw, I can't say that the Stocks are low, but I have seen good number of ppl with 120k.
It’s a pretty solid offer for Microsoft new grad and you’re not going to be able to negotiate that without VP approval. If you don’t have better offers, you should take it.
Banking on return intern offer from LinkedIn. I find my current project more interesting than what I would be potentially working on there
