130K base 50K a year stock 5% target bonus year end Some other monthly perks like free internet/phone that push it up to 190K tc For NYC or Seattle remote Yoe: 9 months I should be glad for an offer but hard seeing all these high TC numbers
A good offer. More importantly do you have competing offers?
Working on square team match but that’s most likely for Canada which is less preferable
190k tc for hcol isn't good, but that's the market right now.
It’s good if you choose remote. Not sure 190k is survivable in NYC, maybe with roommates sure..
I want what you smoking if you think it ain’t enough to survive in nyc
Was gonna split a 1br with partner she makes about 80K usd hopefully that’s enough?
Solid offer for basically what is a new grad.
That’s nearly double my TC in a HCOL area. I would choose Seattle remote, even though it isn’t the best location for a young man to deal with. Congratulations on the offer, OP. TC: ~90K
So basically $190k for basically being just out of college. 99.999% of the population would kill for that. People with high tc have been at it for a bit.
Quite true! I do have 2 years of internship and freelance experience. Although I know that doesn’t mean much outside of new grad
At this point in your career I’d be concerned with learning as much as I would be with TC. TC is important because it sets a baseline going forward. But it’s not super critical as it’s easier to scale up TC than it is knowledge. Getting experience and being able to actually learn is by far the biggest component I’d be looking for. That’s bankable. You can take knowledge and experience and easily translate that into a much better position in the future. New grads who go to FAANG’s (especially the big ones) don’t learn nearly as much as engineers who go to smaller companies and are therefore required to do more. You might become better versed in CI/CD, dev ops, etc. but you’ll be working on a very small piece with little in the way of innovation available. At this point I’d give up a few $ to find the best fit to learn from.
Too low for such a privileged new grad. Reject your offer and try some quant companies which pay $400k

Tech companies to avoid as a white guy?
190k tc for less than 1 yoe is pretty good in this economy
It’s amazing actually. 2 YOE rn and I’d be very happy with that remote offer for myself tbh.
