IBM offices are all over the country, so are people allowed to work remotely in their satellite office, remote from where their core team sits? For example, if my team sits in SF, are people allowed to work in the Atlanta office? I’m interested in roles at IBM and am wondering if permanent remote OR working in their satellite offices is an option. Of course, this is a question for once COVID ends and we’re asked to go back to the office Has any IBMers experienced or seen people do this? TC - $145k
talk with your manager about where you want to move, should not really be a big deal given the reality around us unless your manager is a ....
In my experience it is more team dependent vs office dependent. If your manager doesn't sit in your office location or travels a lot then often nobody cares at all if you come in the office. For hiring it depends. Some managers want to colocate their teams and some don't care so will hire all around the country or multiple countries. It's pretty role dependent too. Basically the full spectrum of office every day with big team to working alone at home, never going in, different timezone as team is all possible.

It's an office by office basis. there are offices that are already fully remote, some people literally never see the office (although IBM won't admit this). as for working from a different office, no idea. they might not like that
Can agree. My manager’s team never cares if you come in as long as you can do the work
