I joined Amazon for my second job, my first job was a mid size company for 3 years. The pay jump was a 70% increase so I needed that money to pay my bills and build a better foundation, I also thought it would help my resume and career goals. After being here for 7 months I'm finally happy I made the decision. Not because of the money, or understanding the processes, or because I haven't been PIPed yet, but because last month we got new grad new hires and I'm happy that I'm here to help them onboard. If these kids walked into the trenches I saw "day one" I would have cried out of empathy. No onboarding with team mates just endless wikis, no one talks to you, no one will respond on Slack within 3 hours, no one will take any time out to even explain the most niche obscure team specific technologies. Four days into being hired I was making a production change BEFORE MY LOCAL ENVIRONMENT WAS FULLY SET UP. So far I've had 4 half hour conversations with them and its only Tuesday, I would have gladly had 8. I'll work late if it means I get to help them make a change, I'll take time out if it means they aren't miserable and can feel like they're learning. My hope is these kids are smarter than me and leave before I do. I got that second Google interview hopefully coming in February and I'm leetcoding in the mean time. Amazon is not a place for new grads, I only hope more don't join once I leave. YOE : 3 y 9 months TC : 180K (Down leveled bad man) LC : 98 #amazon #newgrad

Wtf
How many hours do you work / day generally?
Depends. Today 11 to 5, then 8 to 10 to finish up. Last Sprint I worked 12 hours one day, but then slacked off the next (worked 4 hours mostly meetings.) Most days though I try to do 8 to 10. Personally if I can overwork early in a Sprint I feel better and because its WFH its easy to pick and choose when to zone out or clock out early.
This guy is probably getting his dck sucked so hard it fell out of his balls
Op is probably a girl. Check the username.
You are a Saint! I think you ll do great in Google!!
Remember to lead one of them astray so that they become the pip candidate instead of you. This is the Amazon way.
ROFL
I though PIP is the way
Train them wrong purposefully, as a joke.

" these kids" lmao my guy you're 3 years out, you're a kid
That's what I thought joining Amazon, but for every month in Amazon you age 1 year. Its like the hyperbolic time chamber but with more bananas.
From what I've heard I totally believe you, Haha
