Does your insurance get expensive after you retire ? Can you get on to your children’s insurance if they are working? I’m not that old but had a wake up call recently after an old neighbor couldn’t pay for his medical bills. He used to be a banker.
10k per person?
That’s why Obama care was incepted.
Obamacare is only there if you make above 400 percent poverty. If you are above that then you have to pay full rates. Best idea is work part time at a company who pays health benefits like Starbucks, Costco or Wal-Mart.
It also put in place insurance exchanges with limits to how much more they can charge older people and denials due to preexisting conditions (a lot of people have at least one by the time they're older).
Insurance is crazy expensive if you are old and not employed. You cannot be on your child’s plan. Medicare kicks in at 65 (but it is not free either).
Medicare is supposed to take care of you

Medicare and I think you can get secondary insurance. I should find out what my parents do.
If you don't qualify for Medicare Part A you can pay a premium for Part B, I think maybe from age 62.
