Why I Find Free Palestine Inspiring
I have no idea about companies you mentioned, but I went from G8 to L4 at Google as SWE and it was definitely a low-ball and down level. I'm at L5 now, and it seems fairer, but I compare myself rather to L6s mostly.
G8 maps to IC4 at Nvidia but if you are 12+ yoe then IC5 is straight forward.
12yoe w/out PHD for ic5. With phd, it knocks off years.
Thanks, I currently have 12+ yoe
I had G9 offer at Intel at 7 yoe but Nvidia gave me Ic4 with IC5 pay. Got promoted to Ic5 on 2nd focal cycle. Internal recommendation is 12+ yoe for IC5 to consider. Should be doable
levels.fyi is also a good reasource to check
Should be L5 at Google, high L5 or low L6 at Amazon and 63 or 64 at Microsoft.
Just say to HR that your current level is high enough for any level you want to apply and stay firm, they’ll usually give in.
Hmm, that does sound like a one way to start, especially given the job descriptions are catch-all and random experience listed compared to the compensation ranges.
