Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
I was keen on applying internally and look for jobs, but also worried if my manager/group HR would be informed about this. I am seriously looking for change because other banks & Citi are giving 150-180k base for my current role. Quant modeling/Desk Quant 1. At what stage of the process would my boss be informed? Would applying on workday trigger an email to my manager? 2. How popular is it to get a increase in base pay? Does the hiring recruiter talk about pay before scheduling interview. 3. Does level promotion happen while internal transfer? Level: C12 YOE: 3 years Base: 120k
just look for external...
The recommendation from HR is to let your boss know before you interview ( or at least before it seems serious). For internal moves I’ve told my boss right when I know I’m getting the offer. Once I told them after I got the offer, but better you tell them before the hiring manager reaches out. Generally, before I even submit, I have an info meeting with the hiring manager and see it’s a good fit. They will directly or indirectly let you know if you should even bother.
You need to take that hit and talk to Your boss and inform about your decision to look for internal opportunities. No one gets offended by this. You will be asked about this by few Recruiters or new hiring managers. Muster the courage and let your manager know you like to explore opportunities
Your boss would be notified before you even get an interview. He/she will need to sign off on it.
