Has anyone done the take home challenge for okta where you have to solve four use cases as part of the Technical challenge. Is anyone currently interviewing for the solutions engineer role at Okta #okta #cybersecurity
Okta does take home challenges? Since when did this happen?
Since they’re trying to copy Auth0 engineering culture
Nah, the Okta SE tech challenge began in 2013. No one had even heard of Auth0 then because that's the year they were founded. Not copying Auth0. Solutions Engineers at Okta are very different caliber of people than Auth0 SEs. Just look them up on Linkedin. Auth0 SEs tend to have engineering and coding experience which is great, but limited work experience, and business acumen selling to C level and VP executives. Additionally, the question that started the thread was about the SE Tech Challenge which has nothing to do with Okta engineering. So, saying Okta engineering which began in January 2009 is copying Auth0 is silly.
You're given four use cases and you need to use Okta to provide solutions. It's not for software developer role
Yes I’ve done the technical challenge for a solutions engineering role. Was fairly straightforward and the documentation on their website is quite clear. How did yours go? What salary and OTE are you expecting?
Which use cases did you demo and present on for your Okta technical challenge?
I can’t remember the titles of them but I set up SSO and MFA and integrated into SFDC, and also AD with EC2... then wrote some code in Java to showcase the card shuffling game. May have done another one but that’s all I remember :)
I did this for a Commercial Solutions Engineering role and completed the 4 take home challenges. They were challenging in the beginning as I got used to Okta and the IDP space, but the challenges became easier when it became more about my full stack knowledge and implementation and not as much as learning Okta
I had a good first round tech interview... but recruiter called me and said they have offered the job to some one else who interviewed before me since he attended first🙁... I did the interview well, so they said they will give me a alternative similar position to interview ... I am still waiting to hear.. but no reply yet... don't know if I am ghosted... 🤞 It's a good company to work for... hope I will hear something
I am having a second round with the tomorrow and I noticed they really care about my technical skills as a solutions engineer. Any updates on how it went for you guys?
How challenging is the challenge?
challengingly challenging
You're given a week to provide solutions so it's definitely hard
