I got a new iPhone and been using it with esim on T-Mobile. Any ideas on if I’ll be able to setup the phone with local Indian esim when in India and then switch back to T-Mobile esim as soon as I land? I usually swap sims when in India, but won’t be able to do this year. #vacation #travel
Google it
use Google FI
Throttled speed would be a problem and an using iPhone on top of it wont help either
Convert us tomb esim to physical sim. Use esim in India . At one time only one esim can be used
Use as secondary esim and switch you phone to secondary .. will work
There is option to configure 2nd esim
Newer iPhone supports keeping around 10 eSIMs and two SIMs can br used at a time. Btw google is the platform for these questions and not Blind.
Yes I have multiple esims on my iPhone, I can turn then them on/off or have them on same time. I think only 2 on at same time thing but you can install and keep as many as you want
Best answer, much appreciated.
Tldr: Use Tmo esim And buy physical sim from India Just travelled to India.. I had the physical sim from Tmo which I got it converted to esim when I was in India. And used physical sim with prepaid plan from Vodafone. I went to vodafone store and asked for esim. They said I would need to activate a postpaid plan for at least 4 months. So I got prepaid physical sim. Rules are different for each carriers.
If you have Magenta Max, your T-Mobile sim will give you 5GB highspeed data and will be on all the time after that with 2G speeds. Also you can keep tmob eSim active and add international eSim/Physical Sim. They both work just fine like dualsim.
Jio/Airtel provide eSIMs too just need to go to their store to setup. I use their eSIM in US as well.
After I setup would I get an option to swap b/w India sim and US sim?
Ya, you can register as many eSIMs as you like. Just choose any one from settings to activate it when needed.
