Specifically the engineers. Have an offer starting in Jan
I have noticed doubleclick.net loading some stuff on primevideo.com so amazon ads clearly isn’t doing the job its supposed to do
Ads should be safe and it is something that they are looking to invest for long term. However, no one is safe in this market. Companies can layoff anyone, whenever they like
Yeah mainly just trying to have a reasonable sense of certainty that I’m going to have a job after I give notice, at least for a little bit/able to get severance
They won't rescind the offer. You can join. Uncertainty would be there for some months or coming years tbh. So, better give a shot
Ads + AWS are the safest of all orgs to be in at Amazon atm. Prime Video should also be relatively safe. It’s mainly going to be a bloodbath in Retail + Alexa + Music + Moonshot orgs (robotics ect.) That being said, no org is 100% safe atm, but if you just got an offer that’s an indication that the role your filling was recently deemed critical enough to hire for (most new headcount got closed).
I signed my offer at the end of Oct, before all layoffs were announced, my recruiter told me I was the last SDE1 hire in Ads at least for the month
I am not sure but haven’t come across any news of Ads being impacted.. Congratulations on your offer!
