Is Google Seattle worth it?

Except for the pay, Microsoft has everything for folks in Redmond, Bellevue campuses. Good parking, Connectors, campus amenities, Job security/ stability, $1T market cap, WLB etc. Has anyone decided to jump ships to Google in Seattle/Kirkland and has decided to/against it? What was your rationale? Are projects here less relevant than Mountain View ? TC: 285K

One word refreshers. Google has everything that msft has but better. Job security, good stocks, wlb along with very good refreshers and a higher median talent

Thanks, that’s helpful. Refreshers are RSUs?

Yep so technichally you get stocks and bonuses even after 4 yrs so you dont hit a cliff like msft. Aparently L3 refreshers at Google are higher than 62 refresher at MSFT

Microsoft BvTV45 OP Mar 29, 2020

I switched from MSFT to Google for a ~40% pay raise and free food

How 1T market cap helps individual employees?

More business, more projects

Just make sure you go to Kirkland not SLU. SLU is fine but the Kirkland office is really beautiful and quiet.

Microsoft BvTV45 OP Mar 29, 2020

How are the products and projects? In MS, afaik the SF office doesn’t have much autonomy, GPM/GEM for all the projects/products in SF (and other offices) are in Redmond. Are the roles in Kirkland/ SLU better/autonomous?
