As someone who is actively applying I came across this trend that some of the unicorn/FANG companies adopted. They only (or mostly) hire seniors. LinkedIn, uber, lyft, Netflix. They all seem to be looking for senior developers and no other openings for any position less than senior. Is this a new trend? What do you think is the reason?
Mostly because they hire straight from college for less experienced positions. Higher quality out of the college pipeline than the industry pipeline.
LC hard, don't say you were in uni in the past 5 years, they won't be able to tell
😂 keep telling yourself that
Because nowadays anyone with 2 yoe is a Senior
Well that’s why there’s principal and senior principal now
I think it’s just part of the annual cycle. They filled their positions for junior levels and only senior levels are left for the rest of the year. Happens often later in the cycle
Really? It's April and it's already full?
This is us. Currently it’s Q4 fiscal
