Am currently working in a 7 years startup and am finding it very hard to even convince other teams to improve their software architecture. Features are built on top of poorly designed softwares and even after suggesting possible execution plans that can be jammed into sprints to slowly transition the system to a better design. Lots of big talk on revamping but never happen. Is this normal in other companies? Do you guys get frustrated over this? Any tips and tricks? Thanks in advance!#engineering #frustrated
Look up the difference between cost center, profit center, revenue center and a ROI center. If you're in a division that treats IT as a cost center, the only way you're getting ahead in this "convincing" conversation / "revamping" is if you show quantitatively why your features will help cut IT cost.
This is really helpful thanks!
