Is it inappropriate to watch a movie at work?
I have 3 screens. And I always keep one for Spotify or Facebook while I work on the other two. Will it be inappropriate to watch a movie on that one screen? I have no problem coding and watching a movie at the same time. I did that all through college.
I don’t think it’s inappropriate but people especially older folks will judge you.
I'm ancient and do that all the time. Not movies but sporting events.

So inappropriate. That’s what your personal life is for. You really want people to judge you when they walk by and see your screen? People’s perception of you is their reality. Protect your image at work and your career.
I used to do that. Netflix. Ome stud complained. Manager asked me not to. I said if music is some folks relese, why can't it be audio visual. He didn't allow. I further said, if music videos in youtube are allowed why not movies. He didn't explain

I don’t feel it is .. but if it gets into a lot of problems you might wanna consider putting your phone on a stand and playing it on the small screen.. PS : you wouldn’t have this issue working for Netflix ;)

Yep. If you want to watch a movie while you work, that’s a perfect day to work at home
Could you instead spend less time working by not splitting attention between work and movie? And then after work watch movies?

Why don’t you just ask your manager?
Omg no don’t ask your manager. Do it, and if anybody makes a comment stop doing it. I’ve been doing it, a bunch of my coworkers have been doing it, nobody has ever said a thing.
