Is there any hope for a better TC ?

Still in college. I have an offer of 125 k TC (Seattle) Never been good at coding challange or interviews. I blew a lot of interviews with good companies before getting through with relatively easy interview. Set to graduate in December. I have been applying to jobs, but there is literally no time to prepare because of school work and a PT job. Recently failed 2 online coding challenges that were not even that difficult. Part of me just wants to give up on finding better job for now and try again in a year with done experience under my belt. The other part is telling me to shoot for the stars NOW and that part is making me exhausted !! Yoe - less than 1 Current TC: 15 / hr

125k TC for a new grad is fine. New grads typically get between 125k TC to 140k TC

How is amazon new grad TC ? I read on blind it being about 160k TC including sign on and stocks

Amazon DynamoDB Sep 4, 2019

I joined as a new grad last year in Bay. TC was 145K If you're a returning intern (I was not), you get slightly higher sign on. Amazon unfortunately doesn't negotiate new grad offers.

Would you mind sharing what company? And TC breakdown?

SAP ThatGuy3 OP Sep 4, 2019

115 k base + 10k bonus. Not comfirtable sharing company name yet.

10k each year or only first year? If only first year, then wouldn’t your TC be 117 🤔

Take it. Use your free time after work to improve your LC skill

For your first job, don't even think about TC, think about what opportunities you'll have for learning. 125k is fantastic for a new grad, but will the role teach you?

Don't really give up although offer isn't bad. Keep trying. Don't burn yourself out. But if u have free time and energy practice or study. In my experience passing algorithms/ds interviews were easiest right after college. So do LC. And practice. Here's a good guide: https://steve-yegge.blogspot.com/2008/03/get-that-job-at-google.html?m=1

Do you want to have a bet? You will quit your job in 6 to 7 years because you will “burned out”! If your goal is money from the get go then you”re fucked my friend. Particularly because you think 125k might not be good enough tc for someone who doesn’t know jackshit!

The new grad TCs you read over the last few years are gone. RSUs are probably not appreciating that quickly any time soon. You have no industry experience and someone is offering you $125k to basically go learn for 12mo. Be excited about that

Amazon newAz Sep 4, 2019

Yeah, now new grads are getting 200k+

Amazon DynamoDB Sep 5, 2019

No new grad is getting 200k+ -_-

Amazon ThorFate Sep 4, 2019

125 is a good offer for new grad. I would take it. Seattle will also give you opportunities to network around and if you improve coding skills you can look for better opportunities in other companies with higher TC
