Go to Florence. Totally awesome place

Florence is amazing. Venice is definitely worth seeing. I would skip Rome personally unless you're really into the history. The Amalfi coast is beautiful, especially if you wander up into the little towns off the coast with their thousands of year old cobblestone streets.

You also said France. I just went to Corsica and would highly recommend it. Very gorgeous

I second this. Corsica is called the 'island of beauty'. Beautiful beaches and mountains. A very friendly people, rightfully proud of their very unique culture.

Florence is awesome. Cinque terre and Porto venere are mind blowing!

I have been to Italy and France several times - some of the best trips were when we just drove and stopped at small towns, talked to people and saw local attractions. You can mix and match city travel with some local stuff.

Rome and Paris are truly beautiful cities. Sienna in Italy, I would also recommend. The French Riviera off-season is great, very crowded July-August. I like what one of the posters said, drive maybe through the 'Vallee de la Loire' in central/West France and admire the architecture of the castles, and the small towns and villages. Don't be shy and meet the people. I took my son to Normandy and the D-day beaches. It was quite a moving experience: the beaches are beautiful nowadays, gold sands, blue waters for miles and yet you can feel the weight of history. Sometimes US military cargo planes on their way to the UK or maybe the US go out of their way and do some low fly-bys salutes at Omaha Beach. Also try the food in both countries. When I go to France, I get a warm croissant a 6am/7am at a local bakery with an expresso to start the day, but I could live on bread and cheese: so good. Try couscous/merguez which is not traditionally French but which is part of French culture. The falafels in the Marais in Paris, the crepes,... Enjoy!

I’d recommend Siena. If you go anytime may-sept definitely go to Naples and the Amalfi coast (Capri, Positano, Sorrento, Amalfi). Another place worth visiting is Cinque Terre in the region of Liguria and Portofino.

How long you think a such a trip should be? Like a month? I usually want to stay a few days in each of those places.
