Today I informed my current employer (staffing company) that moving to full time role at Citi. First thing he said is, ‘Citi is firing everyone, don’t come back if anything bad happens and also they don’t do GC’ Ppl working in Citi, pls give some hope if possible TC : 150K (C12) at NJ
I do not work for Citi. You can check the layoff facts about Citi in the gov database. Irrespective, the employer is a bully and trying to threaten you. Do not fall for the bullying trap.
This is good advice
Thank you, i will check there..
Join Citi. I worked there. You won’t lose your job. There’s a lot of work to do there and they need people. Work for until the situation gets better.
Thank you for your words
Thank you, yes will try my best..
Red alert for your staffing company
Yes, many red alerts already were but I don’t want to get into those..
Damn only staffing companies can be scum bags like this
This was my first employer in US.. hopefully don’t have to move into any other such companies in future
Yoe?
9yrs(abroad) + 1 yr of US(with 4.5yrs of career break as well)
Congratulations on converting full time at another company, OP. I hope to be in the same boat after my contract is up. As far as I know, Citi is in a good position regarding job security, and even if you are laid off, the severance will allow you to live well until the market corrects again. Anything can happen, and I’d suggest having back up options for areas to ride out your GC situation if anything happens. Good luck! TC: 90K, on a C2H role myself
What’s citi’s severance like?
Thank you so much for your words.. ya my current TC is 85k..
I haven’t heard of any layoffs. It’s a big company tho so you never know.
GCs could be a challenge but not impossible. Sounds like a sore loser trying to discourage you!
And so what? Why you changing that is important! No one can say your old company will not have turbulence
Just move on. Learn a lot, seek to become an irreplaceable employee
Thank you, yes will try my best..
