Hello, I completed all my interviews and i have heard positive response, I am expecting a offer next week and I want to be prepared for negotiation. Thanks to Blind community I know so much more now. Unfortunately when I begin the process I wasn’t on the blind and I told the expected salary range to Recruiter which is 130-140k base pay and they don’t do stocks (is what I have heard) Based on my experience (6years) I should at least have a TC of 200k+ but not sure how would I negotiate if they don’t give equity. I am thinking to ask for 170k base pay and signing bonus of 25k. I have few other interviews lined up next week as well and that’s for TPM role. And somehow my manager has gotten a hint that I am looking so he is giving salary hike and make my salary from 110k to 125k Would love to hear your thoughts on how to navigate such situation? 1. Recruiter asked for expectation (2 months ago) but now that has changed 2. How to make them hold as I have interviews next week 3. Is Senior Scrum master better role vs TPM for career growth? Thanks 🙏🏼 TC: 110k YOE :6
What does scrum master does? Seriously asking.
They help execute product owner/manager vision. Kinda get things done. They run lots of meetings/scrum ceremonies - sprint planning, review, etc. they help team organize the work and execute the work. Basically like a PM
More like junior level project manager
Lol. You again. No, your expectation is your commitment and you have to accept it. Joke aside. 1. It is expectation and expectation can always change based on new information 2. Just tell them it is your first company interviewed and there are a few lined up in next couple of weeks. It is very normal to wait unless they give you an outrageous offer 3. TPM is much better
I had a pretty bad experiencing interviewing at Insulet. Like the worst experience ever
Oh no! I am sorry, what role were you applying for? My last interview was weird and strange but whatever. Lol 😂
Rather not say. But they sure have the market cornered! Good luck
Btw, don’t start negotiation until you finish other interviews. If you negotiate hard now and end up not accept, it just leaves bad feelings on the other side
Got it.
Any fanng level companies have such roles? No. So, should you expect fanng level pay? Probably not either
Got it. Then I should just focus on the FAANG interviews coming up in next week or so.
I’ve been a TPM and a Scrum Master. I think both are pretty equal for career growth. My last role I was a senior TPM and I left for a VP Scrum Master position. TC $195k. I would negotiate and let them know it’s a hot job market.
I think TPM is a much better role than scrum master.
Got it!
