Layoff company vs PIP company

I am finally getting offers soon but those companies are not popular options in Blind community. Company A already laid off and is likely to have more follow-up layoff. But its WLB is great. Company B has horrible WLB and PIP culture. Assuming the offers from both companies are similar, which one would you choose? No visa issue. TC: $0

Which ever is the one where you are in a role that is necessary by company and is directly impacting revenue.

So Microsoft vs Amazon. Pick what pays you more. Pick the team you like more. Pick the tech and work you find more interesting that will give you a stronger resume

ur poll should’ve just been the companies 🤦‍♀️ anyway, choose company A. OR, if you want a company with both layoffs and PIP, choose Amazon lol

Not sure if true…but I heard on a podcast that if the company has already done their first round of layoffs…anyone they hire after is unlikely to get caught up in already planned second/third round layoffs. Companies like to have a healthy mix of “hiring cohorts.” I.e X% are still new and learning the ropes, X% are in years 2-4 and the most productive, X% are 4+ years in and potentially coasting but also have tons of tribal knowledge. Getting hired in this market means you are likely part of a small cohort…could be a good thing? Of course…if performance is shit 6-12 months in then you’d be susceptible.

Always take the job with the highest TC. Problem solved.
