Do you have/have you ever had managers or higher ups who were absolute.shit in their communication and decisions? These folks like to call themselves leadership, but that ship has already sailed for those under them. It's leadershit, flowing downstream to rank and file! Tell us your best stories too! Edit: if you feel you have asshat VPs, dumbass manager, fucked coked up execs, you have leadershit. Congrats. - Abe Lincoln - Beavis, or something.
I've a shitty VP who always says we need to be strategic when we discuss the details and suddenly wants to get into the weeds when we try to get strategic. Working with this VP is super painful since I'm always trying to predict where their head lies ahead of each meeting... Is it strategic or tactical each time... Super shitty experience
Sounds like a L4 VP.
Not sure what that means.
My Leadershit = a director who thinks every engineer is the same. Every task is the same complexity. If one thing finishes in 3 hours, they can't understand why another thing in a different stack, with a different issue takes 3 days. It's almost like they haven't even written substantial code and yet, feel entitled to be able to declare that a task should take 3 hours. Clown leader! Why don't you do it and demonstrate your competence?
Were they ever an engineer? Sounds like a pathetic idiot if they can't wrap their head around complexity.

Israeli precision-guided munition likely killed group of children playing foosball in Gaza, weapons experts say
Whenever you ask for help/ advice or even give your own opinions, upper leadership will deflect them so fast by telling you to work with your manager
That is so true. I have seen it but hadn't processed it. Thanks for putting it so clearly
Bonus shit points if they say "I'm always available if you need anything, just talk to me" during all hands.
