I’ve been at a media agency for 3 years now and have made decent growth over the years - started as an assistant and now currently a supervisor. More recently, I’ve been interested in exploring more creative/marketing careers within the entertainment industry (i.e Disney, NBCU, WarnerMedia etc.) but I’m unsure about how my resume translates experience. Since my current job has been my one and only, anything before it are internships during college. While I consider myself still early in my career, I don’t necessarily want to be seen as entry level. Any thoughts or experiences on early career growth and what helped you make your next career move? #entertainment #media #resume #marketing
This is good advice, additionally any contacts or referrals you can get are huge. Networking can be important to get noticed in early / mid roles.
My advice is to cater your relevant experience to the job description on your resume! A lot of places use an ATS system, so once you are cleared though that, it’s easier to get on the phone and explain how your skills translate over. You got this! Good luck
Good point! Getting through ATS is definitely one of the first hurdles
