I didn't like the interface. The product felt kind of clunky. When I first started preparing for coding interviews a few years ago, I stumbled upon a no-name (as in I literally have never heard anybody mention it) coding practice website called code fights (which has been rebranded to code signal). I really liked the design of that product. It gamified the coding practice grind so well. I actually really enjoyed myself solving coding problems there. And then there's hacker rank which I also remember has a better UI than leetcode. So I probably only ever did a handful of problems on leetcode and a LOT more on code fights and less so on hacker rank. I collected offers from Google, Facebook, Snap, Uber, byte dance and some lesser known startups. So I probably did not miss out on anything from leetcode. Leetcode kind of reminds me of craigslist, so famous & dominant that they don't need to work on the UI/UX, whereas the smaller players who are trying so hard and doing a great job are not getting the attention and recognition they deserve... #software #swe #interview #leetcode
No one is using leetcode because of its interface or UX
Ofc, I'm just saying there are lesser known but better (UX wise) alternatives
No doubt there is but content is king
How dare you attack our messiah!
Pramp resembles a real virtual interview experience much better in my opinion.
Leetcode has first mover advantage, and brand right now. It’s like Bloomberg terminal it’s hard to switch to something else. Also the interview prep market is not very lucrative so competitors don’t really try.
"It’s like Bloomberg terminal it’s hard to switch to something else." ??? No it isn't. All of these algo/DS sites are more or less interchangeable.
Let me know when someone suggests something other than leetcode for interview prep. Let me know when ppl use something other than Bloomberg terminals too
At the end of the day, whatever works to get to the goal
Hackerrank always felt like Leetcode with extra steps 🤷♂️
Hackerrank is terrible.
Code fights/code signal has a much much better UX. Dare I say delightful even
