Living in cheaper COL countries if laid off
I am done with the constant state of crisis in America. If I lose my job in the next recession, I'm planning to relocate to a cheaper COL country until hiring recovers. I'd have a longer runway with my savings without compromising my QoL too much. Who knows, maybe I'd like it so much that I wouldn't return back for jira tickets and pointless sprints. Anyone else thinking of relocating to lower CoL countries if laid off? #tech #layoff #recession

Check out Spain + Portugal, some golden visa options there. South of Spain / Costa del sol, you can get CA like weather for 1/8th the cost
I am looking at short term visas to Mexico or SE Asian countries. Not super inclined to deal with European costs.
