Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
saw some positions with cloud experience in LM. wanted to know the hiring process, how long does it take HR to contact and after how long without contact should I lose hope?
OP, I’m former military with an active Secret Clearance. In my experience, they want someone who has it , I don’t know of any companies that sponsor/pay for it. Make sure your social media is spotless
Ehh when I went through mine I asked about social media to my investigator and he said it's not something they usually look at at all. But obviously if you have something stupid on there take it off, just in case.
I hire people without clearances all the time and then submit for clearances after the come here.
I have a buddy that works there. He didn’t have a security clearance or is needed for his BU
My buddy, "LM took 8 weeks to get back to me just to say that it was good news. Then they took another 4 weeks to finally give me the offer. "
Software engineer position?
Yes
My neighbor works there - they will try to make you an offer competitive to what you would earn in the service. Which is to say it's going to be a low ball for most blinders.
Yeah my buddy makes 72k a year in TX
Your buddy is a software engineer? How's his WLB?
I applied to LM out of college for multiple positions and remember receiving a rejection email for one of the roles 2 months AFTER I started working there
I get several pings from recruiters but never saw pings from LC, Raytheon, Boeing and other federal contractors. What do I change in my LinkedIn profile to get pings from federal contractors?
it took them 2.5 months to respond to initial application (a week longer than Google and Wallmart which also took awhile), by that time i already accepted an offer and started new job cool company tho, 10/10 would interview if they responded faster could have told my kids i'm working for a firm that created SR-71 Blackbird and Skunkworks instead of yet another webapp
You'll need security clearance
Will they sponsor for one? Seems like you can only get security clearances through a company and all the companies require you to have one already.
Depends on the position. Usually the job posting says if you need one or if they'll get you one. And yes you need a company to do it. You can't get one on your own.
