Any tips or suggestion? I got invited for an interview and would love any suggestions or best practices for #lockheedmartin specifically. TIA!
I’m a hiring manager and have supported these types of events. Biggest recommendation is have a solid and convincing elevator pitch. Less than 2 minutes. Tell me exactly why we need to hire you. When we ask “tell us about yourself” we don’t care about what school you went to unless it’s notable (MIT, etc.). We don’t care where you grew up. If you talk about anything personal, do it because it has impact and really sets you apart (for example, one candidate told me he build kit airplanes for fun— that was a great personal note for an incoming aeronautical engineer). Whatever you do, do not drone on and on. Hiring events mean limited time with the hiring manager so you need to make it count. Make sure your resume is tailored to the position and your skills quickly identifiable. There will be screeners trying to route you to the right manager, so you can help them by making it obvious what you are targeting.
May I please ask you about the hiring process at Lockheed Martin? In general, how many resumes are reviewed on resume days? How long after the job post dates do the reviewing days happen?
Make sure to answer all interview questions in STAR format. And highlight your self in previous work , accomplishment, and projects. LM interviews aren’t difficult just requires some preparation so you can be concise when you’re answering the questions

How long did it take for you to get an interview after applying?
This one a week, but I’ve had (and still have) things under review for months with nothing and either get a screening questionnaire or auto rejection much later. This is the first time I got to interview stage.
I see. Looks like interview stage at Lockheed is not easy. My resume is not even read. Do you have a security clearance in hand?
