Bad times in front of us. And to be honest I'm happy this is happening. I've put too much effort into this job and my health and family life has suffered from of it. What I'm seeking now is a job with minimal meetings and bureaucratic procedures. I want clear objectives at the start of each sprint, and the freedom to work independently. If I complete my tasks ahead of schedule, great. If not, that's fine too. Flexibility is crucial for me, as I want to be able to prioritize my personal life and return to my fitness routine and spend quality time with my children. I don't wish to participate in daily stand-ups, nor do I want to decipher what the designers and project managers are saying and write extensive technical specifications that no one will ever read. If you are a manager who values a highly skilled Android developer who can work independently, please do reach out to me. I'm open to junior or mid-level roles, even if they come with a significant pay cut. As long as the compensation is at least 120k in cash and the position is remote, I am ready to take on any challenge. Tc: 550? Yoe: 13 Us citizen
Make your own android app
Tag Snap. They need Android devs and there must be some roles to backfill. I’m no longer there.
With that 550k tc, can’t you just grind on for another year and take a long break?
That is where I am now. Have plenty in the bank. Can live off nothing for a good decade
Then take a break even without the 120k job. You can afford to buy medical insurance on your own. Your kids will grow up so fast that the more you wait the less time you’ll have with them.
Isn’t the time to demand what you want when times are good and you have leverage? Why did you sit on a job that wasn’t giving you what you needed?
They gave me tons of $$$$$$. But stock is never coming back and lay offs are inevitable. Not worth the energy and sacrifice anymore
United Airlines, but cut 1/3 the comp
How much was your compensation before the stock crash?
On paper it seems reasonable. However, once the company is aware that you are a good engineer that can do more, you will be asked to do more. 120k TC does not mean the job can be somehow much more chilling than your current one, even though you can provide high quality work. The other thing you should factor in consideration is the work environment. For a person who already works with high performing coworkers, they will have to adjust a lot just to align with a company with less talented employees. That can be pretty draining even though the job itself might not be demanding. You should just take a long vacation after your current job. It sounds like you are burning out right now.
OP, maybe your bored and should partner/do a start up. Then you can at least do things your way. Or do freelance
Good luck.
