After looking through levels.fyi and searching online it seems MC does not provide stock options and is on a low level of comp. Is it true, or is there something more to it? #tc #mastercard
Ya, pretty low. I had their offer, 40% lower than the market.
Have to say it’s attractive for a credit card.
Because they’re not a real Tech company. Despite how these guys market themselves, they benchmark their pay scales against big banks.
Gotcha! Do you know if their tech stack is also lagging behind because of it? I am being hit up by them for a Data Engineer role so am curious if there is anything I can pick up with them
Not sure but I’d imagine so. Check Glassdoor. They probably have more information on this.
Yes
Shit Money, Shit Stack, Awesome WLB like 2 hours per week kinda.
Sounds like an ideal retirement place. ヽ(⌐■_■)ノ♪♬
There are some things money can't buy.
It's a place for business guys and executives.
Money is competitive in DC area but there are barely and tech companies here lolol and ya no equity
shit pay and 2 hours per day work (average)
Mastercard is an absolutely terrible place to work. They are 10 years behind the technology curve. They are scared of kubernetes and public clouds. I wanted out the very first week I was there. I sucked it up since we had already signed on a new constitution home. I finally just resigned 2 years later, because I had enough. Now I am back with a real technology company and I am so much happier. Just run away. Don’t even consider an offer from Mastercard. It is a trap.
