First call with MI recruiter. Stated that they’re doing predetermined compensation: Base: $110k Signing bonus: $10k First year performance bonus: $15k Performance bonus after 2nd year: Starts @ $15k This feels low for MBB. Is this normal? Has anyone been able to negotiate? YOE: 3 BS and M.eng degrees #mckinsey #compensation #consulting
Implementation is not considered the "prestigious" part of consulting. The fees that companies earn from implementation projects is considerably lower than strategy, which explains the lower comp. Someone with 3 YOE at the integrative consulting part of McK would have a TC of 160-200k
This is standard comp. in the Firm you need to grow and the comp scores up gradually. For example after being 13 years now my total comp crossed $1.2 million as a partner. Even early partners make some high 600k. Well below typical product managers at FAANGs. And you have to be really good to grow in the firm.
