Assuming Meta pays around 330k and LinkedIn 310k, where would you work? LinkedIn has better stock appreciation, and better WLB. Facebook has better refreshers. I’m just wondering if FB is worth the extra money if you end up working extra hours anyways. #meta #LinkedIn #facebook
It depends on what you want. Fast growth will usually mean extra hours
What do you mean by growth? You mean like getting promoted faster or just more skill set?
Promos. LI growth is a lot slower in comparison, especially senior to staff
I’m hoping to have the same choice soon. I’d go LI unless the difference is huge.
Microsoft stock will easily make up the difference in pay imo.
You were right lmao. Meta stock is dead
When in doubt, trust the MSFT stock
of coz LinkedIn
If you want WLB and a relatively boring work, then take LinkedIn. If you want excitement and are prepared to work more, take Meta
I’m ex FB, I prefer LinkedIn but it’s really up to you. I think FB’s review cycles are a bit archaic. I also enjoy the type of work I do more at LinkedIn.
So what about LinkedIn’s review cycle/promotion?
LinkedIn doesn't have guaranteed refreshers so your TC will likely drop like a rock.
I heard Li is better with refreshers now. Plus, the average promo time is 3 years for Senior to Staff, so that’ll be a good TC bump.
Policy has been updated. Doesn’t matter though since getting refreshers previously was easy. Also its MSFT stock 😍
Idk if it helps but I was in the same boat and picked LinkedIn. I feel a lot of FOMO but think it's the right choice. Time will tell! Also, in your case, TC diff seems like a lot but really it's almost nothing after accounting for tax and uncertainty with stock growth. You could easily make up the difference with the extra time at LI to manage your money. Based on what I heard, if you work as hard at LI as you would at FB, you should be able to land a refresher.
OP DMed you for help
Looks like it worked out now that Metas stock is tanking hard

Women, help me understand why this is inspirational
age? yoe? have family? if not go for fb
around 3 yoe but I also want to have a life and focus on hobbies. I can always jump ship in 2-3 years if I want to get promoted (if I somehow couldn’t at either).
if you don’t mind php go for meta it’s good for growth plus you can always get a linkedin offer later
