I will be joining Microsoft India as a new grad (L59) in about 1.5 months (posting from a friend's account). I have a few questions about some of the benefits — 1. Does Microsoft India give any allowance/discounts to buy iPhones or Android phones? (RIP Windows Phone). I want to buy a decent phone, but can wait for 2 months if MSFT offers benefits for this. 2. Does Microsoft India have any allowance for buying specs, as part of its dental and vision program? 3. Does Microsoft have discounts on Xbox hardware? Can I buy Xbox from Microsoft's India office (BLR/HYD), considering it's currently out-of-stock on both Amazon and Flipkart? 4. Can someone kindly explain the car-lease benefit? Is it worth it in India? Thank you! #microsoft #microsoftindia #msft
1. No 2. Yes 3. No 4. Car lease plan is awesome. Definitely worth in India.
I think they get discount on xbox h/w and games pass, but these devices are out of stock everywhere, not just Amazon/Flipkart because of chip shortage. Car lease is worth in India as you get benefits on monthly lease amount + fuel expenses + chauffeur salary etc, not sure if L59 is eligible for car lease though?
To answer your questions 1- No , they don't offer any discount on I phone or android phones. Don't wait for buying. 2- They have a yearly budget of 10 k for dental and vision. For specs, lenses are covered. You can buy it from anywhere and produce the bill for reimbursement. Specs frame is not covered. 3- You can buy Xbox from MS india office. You can order it from internal MS portal. The bills are reimbursable 10 k. So you can claim 10 k rest you have to pay by yourself. 4- I will check and let you know but most of the people do not go by this. Because the car would be on microsoft name. In general I have really seen anyone taking car or MS leased accomadation .
Can someone tell me what's Microsoft's car lease policy? You get a car for free for temporary use?
I’m not sure if knowing that level of detailing and clarity as a fresh grad means most sorted out or fucked up !
This is related to company policy, question should be go to HR...
Is there a price limit on car ?
