Looking to make a pivot from Amazon to Microsoft. Received offer last week. Offer below. How distorted is the market? Am I missing something? Base: $212K New hire grant: $200k Sign on bonus: $45K Blind tax: Amazon L6 11 YOE TC: $380K
Is the role Redmond based? Seems low
Bay Area, up to 50% remote. Whatever that means…
Exactly as it sounds, they may expect you to be in 2/3 days a week. However, no company wide RTO so it is by org. I’d ask specifically, lots of jobs are listed as up to 50% but the reality is they don’t care as long as you aren’t fully remote.
It looks a little low but not far off for non engineering offer. More surprised you got L66 and not L65 coming as a Sr from Amazon. Kind of tells me they already gave you L66 to get the offer up to compete and maybe can’t go much higher. I got 210/250/50 for L65 about a year ago but in engineering as a PM. The 400+ equity offers are a thing of the past now, so don’t rely on offers from 2020-2022 as datapoints.
If you want to see Msft crappy pay you can look at peoples TC on blind if you go to the company page. Filter by level and be amazed
Any estimate of base, stock, joining for a IC4 senior business analyst role?
This is pretty much standard. Microsoft never paid a lot. Are you surprised or did you not check the salary levels before applying?
I must be naïve. The upper end of the base pay range in the posting is more than TCT package. Unfortunate, as the people I interviewed with were quite nice.
I had the same exp some years ago wit MS. Never interviewed again. They were 60% of my highest offer. Everything was nice. I would love to join MS when I want to retire. Never for money though
