Microsoft Phone Interview

I two separate iOS developer tech interviews with Microsoft coming up and wanted to know what to expect. Would it be basic DS/Algos or would it go into design as well?

This may have changed recently, but I doubt it. The Office for Mac/iOS Team doesn’t use Swift. So if you want to learn useful Swift skills and be a part of the future of iOS, either join and try to convince them to use Swift, or join another team that does use Swift. I would ask them how much of their app is in Swift and if they plan on adopting it soon. Not sure about what to expect for phone interview. Usually phone interviews are preliminary screeners, so you’ll get questions that are more simple to work through over the phone. Like a Fizbuzz question, or perhaps even direct questions about iOS programming itself, like what is ARC, how do autoreleasepools work, what is the difference between frame and bounds, etc.

The recruiter did say be at a computer, so I’m guessing I will get a HackerRank link or something.

Did you take the interviews? I have one coming up at Microsoft. What can I expect? I have been preparing DS/Algos. Should I focus on design as well for the phone screen?
