Microsoft interview

I sometimes feel like Microsoft interviews are slightly unpredictable. I have seen a few people getting asked very simple questions and a few other folks questions harder than being asked at Google. Does anyone else feel this way? Or I am just overthinking and is not really the case. Have an interview in couple of weeks and slightly tensed as it could go either way. What is the group consensus for SDE 2 level interviews? TC: 200k

It’s totally unpredictable because there is no standard and no real training.

Hey I get a ton of emails from recruiters for various azure related hiring events. I’m interested in other teams like Xbox, Hololens, etc. but applying at the careers website is like an application going into a back hole. What does one do? I tried cold emailing some people on LinkedIn with no results.

Why chime to MS, aren’t they gonna IPO soon? You can always get in and then transfer. I think u need 3 internal interviews with HM

Go to the Azure hiring events, get an offer, then ask for another team. Source: did this myself, got a better team

East to medium - depends on team

Microsoft o701j2 Apr 16, 2021

Fb and google they have a pool of questions to ask from. Ms - you just pick your own question. Hence it is 100% unpredictable

I don't disagree with the approach but seems unfair to me as an external candidate because there is no common bar.

Google ? Apr 16, 2021

That’s basically Microsoft as an employer in a nutshell. Teams/ orgs can be very different from each other there.

Interviewers are mostly idiots who couldn't get into FANG even after doing lot of LC
