Hosting and investing in openAI is “killing it”? lol
For a few months. Yeah. They will be back to square one soon
Microsoft was always a killer company, and prestige was equivalent to Google if not more. Steve Balmer destroyed the company with his mediocre vision and poor leadership. Satya is doing an applausible job as CEO.
All except VS Code, Office and XBox Gaming are 🤮 I'm not counting OpenAI because MSFT did jackshit there. And the very fact that you include Azure which has one Active Directory outage every week tells me you know squat.
Azure has big name customers, Google Cloud does not. And my experience with Google Cloud was not so great, many HTTP 302s. Don't get me wrong, Google as a workplace is great though, coasting heaven.
You're embarrassing yourself if you think GCP doesn't have big name customers. And most Azure customers are just legacy Windows business owners who were forced to migrate to Azure by deprecation or lucrative lossy deals. I remember working in Azure and I recall the deadly on-call shifts with at least 1 outage every week. Azure is easily the worst product out of the big 3 just supported by an excellent sales system.
Azure ?? Pass
Are Microsoft engineers and managers as sharp as the ones working at Google, though?
You forgot Nokia Internet explorer Windows vista. Windows 8.1 Also 🥜
All of the failures under Steve Balmer as CEO.
vscode - Free OpenAI - invested in and using service on MS products, most people anyway use MS office whether or not AI. I would see AI is an addition to make users life easier Azure- it’s growing but AWS is still king, GCP is coming behind Windows - As Mac user, would you prefer to switch to Windows with Linux? Well, I won’t. They have already lost decent share to Apple. Office - Always Lead in this space. Not sure what’s new in here? How’s going to kill further 🤔 LinkedIn, GitHub - Not clear about the profitability. AI based search - have you switched to Bing?
Unprofitable free stuff is to keep people in the ecosystem. And create avenues for new product integrations. They were able to capture the market. I use mac i am not changing, but i like the fact that reduced one reason to move from windows by adding linux support. They kinda future proofed MS Products with openai. New revenue will come up i think. Bing just got the boost , not sure how impactful this will be, have to see. But these are all the right steps.
Don't get the windows bashing? Like it's highly versatile. You can play games, dual boot with Linux, upgrade system parts and not to mention the software ecosystem while unpolished and sometimes completely broken is still larger than mac and Linux combined. And it's cheap on top.
You forgot to mention OneDrive? It is really successful in corporate world.
Windows and Teams hard no. Otherwise yes.
280m MAU for Teams
750M for Snapchat, what’s your point again
